Launched on January 26, The Mancraft Guide turns one month old today. Blogging about what it means to be a man has turned out to be a lot of fun. It’s already been rewarding to put my thoughts out into the public forum, plus I’ve already made a bunch of new friends talking about Manhood. Here’s a look at the first month of Mancraft.
The Post That Started It All
My Motivation is a tribute to my Dad, the guy who showed me how to be a man. I hope that I can use this site to inspire other guys to be better men, just like he inspired me.

Published on February 17, the GI Joe ID Quiz sent stats through the roof. This post has been viewed more than the rest of the entire site combined. It was a lot of fun to put together, digging through images of old GI Joes and bringing up memories of my childhood.
Coming in second and third place are How To Find A Good Wife and How To Be Ready For Anything.
My Favorite Posts
This is split between the two previously mentioned posts: My Motivation, a post about my Dad, felt good to get out of my mind and on to paper, so to speak. And the GI Joe ID Quiz was just fun to put together, plus I learned a lot about php working out the script for that quiz.
New Friends
The Art Of Manliness is one of my favorite Man-sites. I’ve made some new friends and had some great discussions in their community, and Brett McKay, the blogmaster, is a real class act.
Then there’s Primer Magazine. It has been great to follow them on Twitter. They gave me some material for research, as well as a tweet that brought a bunch of new visitors to the site.
I’ve also found Men’s Playbook, a magazine for black men whose message crosses cultural and racial bounds.
What’s Next
This has been a great month, but the average lifespan of a blog is only three months! Will The Mancraft Guide survive? Stay tuned to find out by subscribing to our RSS Feed or following us on Twitter. Also, watch out for Grow a Marchstache: Mustache March.

Really? I didn’t know that the average lifespan is 3 months. That’s scary! I think you’ve got a great topic here and it’s pretty endless what you can chat about. Fun stuff. Keep it up.
