In 1931 somebody left the Lieutenant Governor in charge and while at the helm (pun intended) he appointed several guys as Admirals for the State of Nebraska. Some notable members are: Gene Autry, Johnny Carson, George W. Bush, Jack Benny and Martin Luther King III.

I was married almost two years before my wife told me what a wuss I was when I was sick. I was totally unaware of how whiny and helpless I became each time I had a fever. Did you know that the official name for Presidents’ Day is actually Washington’s Birthday? The name Presidents’ Day arose after Lincoln’s presidency. In the 1950′s there was a movement to include him in the birthday celebration, but Washington isn’t going to let Abe have any birthday cake.

I was never an Eagle Scout. Shoot, I barely was a Boy Scout. I was in the Scouts for about six months, but it was a lot of fun. The funnest parts weren’t the planned activities, but the pranks and gags we pulled when the adults weren’t around.
